My 2020 graduate collection “I Look Forward to Your Reply” was inspired by the pen pal letters I have accumulated over the years. I had grand plans for the collection, but Covid-19 had other ideas. These pieces were all finished in my tiny Belfast flat which forced me to get creative without the convenience of the University’s machines.
I combined hand beading, punch card technique and bright colours to create the rich textiles you see above. These pieces are a blend of machine and hand knitting.
